Step 1: First, write down the goals you wish to achieve

Every blogger has goals set aside for his/her blog. Do you want to increase sales, do you want to increase traffic or do you want to create awareness, etc? This is just an example of many goals. Figuring out goals is vital to ensure you are on the right track. A goal acts as your True North.

Write all the goals you wish to achieve in your notebook. Articulate them as they come without caring about their authenticity. Note them down as many as you can.

Step 2: Sort the goals & represent them with relevant keywords

Now take the list of goals you listed above and start sorting them one by one. Sort them in order of the most important ones to the least. Moreover, make sure they are realistic and achievable. Weed out all the unrealistic goals from the list.

You will now have some goals listed in order of importance. Take that list and group together similar goals (these are goals achievable in the same way).

For example, a goal like ranking the site high on search engines can be grouped with increasing site traffic. The reason is that you will achieve them in the same way. Nevertheless, you can proceed without having to group them. Especially, if they are more achievable independently.

Step 3: Consider keywords & topics that are SEO friendly

Here, you are to write down a keyword that can achieve the list of goals you have. Note the keywords besides every goal. For example, if you have a Marketing Blog and one of the goals is to increase sales for your Digital Marketing Course. You can use a keyword like the best Digital Marketing course.

Do this for every goal. There is no problem with having more than one keyword per goal. Remember to also list relevant topics that can be derived from your goals. After, all these you are now ready for the next part of obtaining headlines.

Step 4: Will the topic achieve the desired goal of the site?

After getting keywords and topics that are in line with your goals. You will now have to come up with headlines that capture the keywords and topics. Let’s go back to our example of a Marketing Blog. We had a keyword the best Digital Marketing course. From this, you can get a headline like “The best Digital marketing course to enroll in”

When choosing the headlines ensure that:

• The keywords and topics are included.
• Ensure you use SEO friendly words. (Words that people are likely to search for)

Make a list of these headlines. Note that these headlines are the potential topic for your next Blog. By this moment you now have a topic for your blog the remaining part is tailoring a working title.

Step 5: Get into specific details & obtain a proper title

If you have come all these far then these step is going to be a walk in the park. Take the headlines and formulate some titles from them. Let’s say the headline above on “The best Digital marketing course to enroll in” you can get working titles like;

• “How to learn Digital Marketing”
• “5 tips you need to know about Digital Marketing”
• “Simple steps to become a Digital Marketing Expert ”
• “The No:1 recommended Digital Marketing Course”

These are some of the few working tiles formulated from our example. Now do this for all the headlines you have. You will come up with many working titles. Choose one that will be suitable for that and write your blog post. For future topics for your blog post, you can be choosing from this list.

You can even come up with more than 10 working titles. This will mean you will have no worry about topics for your next 10+ blogs.
